The Museum was built in 1909. Consequently, many of the exhibits date from that era. and some of the captions for the displays are anachronistic, using terms that have fallen out of general use. For example, the ``spiral nebulae'' mentioned in several displays are today known as galaxies and should not be confused with gaseous nebulae or planetary nebulae.
It is hoped that the Astronomical Museum will be renovated with modern exhibits while retaining its historical perspective.
The Tour continues into the main part of the Observatory at the 150 foot Solar Tower.
